Coach Dax

Starting Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) a bit later in life, Coach Dax began his journey at the age of 35. After training for 18 years, Dax still finds BJJ endlessly fascinating and loves sharing this enthusiasm with others. He hopes to keep training and teaching for many more decades to come!

Dax’s journey started in Houston, TX where his main instructor, Tom Dinklage, gave Dax his blackbelt after 10 years of training. Dax moved to the Upper Valley the same year (2016) and has been teaching BJJ in Lebanon for almost 8 years.

The focus for every one of Dax’s classes is to make BJJ a great workout that is safe, fun, and effective. The goal is to help every student reach their maximum potential.

Dax’s BJJ lineage is:

Carlos Gracie > Carlos Gracie, Jr > Travis Tooke > Tom Dinklage > Dax Mitchell
